Driver's Alert (founded in 1989) was one of the first companies to sell the 800# "How's My Driving" decals for commercial vans and trucks. Concerned motorists call us when a vehicle displaying one of our decals is driving hazardously. The business has since evolved by adopting more technological solutions for empowering fleet managers to remotely monitor driving behavior. The premier solution is our vehicle telematics/GPS solution. This involves a black box installed under the dashboard. It contains an accelerometer which tracks hard braking/cornering/accelerating. Other solutions include motor vehicle record monitoring, cell phone blocking while driving and safety training.
Driver's Alert ties all of its individual driving safety solutions together with a service called SmartRisk. SmartRisk issues a composite driver at-risk score based on driving behavior captured from the above-mentioned offerings. It lets a manager quickly see which drivers are most at risk for an accident -- leading to a financial liability for the company.
