In our case, over the past 20 years, we've supported over 326 grants and invested over $2 million into our community with your help, the Barrington Area Community Foundation. Invest in the betterment of the place we all call home, granting leaders, dreamers, helpers and changers the funding and guidance they need in order to grow their mission and meet an unmet need in our community and your community. Why do we do it? Let's start from the beginning. It actually all began, as most things do with an idea. 20 years ago, a few committed people discovered a problem despite its affluence and resource is the community was facing many unmet needs, and it was affecting the lives of our friends and neighbors in Barrington. People without access to specialized health care families without social, psychological and emotional support and potential future leaders who needed development opportunities to grow their talents. And there was no clear way for those that had the means to help. So these few dedicated residents decided to do something about it. Gathered in a dimly lit room of a familiar local diner, Their legacy was born. A fund for the community that ignites change, expands both and sustainability and responsibly funds a wide range of programs and projects that meet unmet needs, no matter how special in the Barrington community. From then to now, impact has been felt far and wide.
